The level of mold production technology has become one of the important indicators to measure the level of product manufacturing in a country, because molds largely determine the quality, efficiency, and development ability of new products.
Looking ahead to the future, due to the overall favorable international and domestic macro environment, the major user industries of plastic molds in China will continue to develop at a relatively fast pace, and plastic molds will also continue to develop at a high speed.
The development of plastic molds in our country has progressed with the development of the plastic industry. The development of plastic products inevitably requires the development of plastic molds. The main user industries of plastic products such as automobiles, home appliances, office supplies, industrial appliances, building materials, and electronic communications have been operating at a high level and developing rapidly in recent years. Therefore, plastic molds have also developed rapidly.
The main problems that currently exist will gradually be resolved through domestic and international exchanges and cooperation, through the joint efforts of the entire industry, and with the support of all parties. Compared with the advanced level of foreign countries, there are still several problems in the development of China's plastic mold industry.
(1) Uneven development and overall low product level. Although some companies' products have reached a relatively high level, and some of their products have reached or are close to international standards, overall, there is still a significant gap between the precision, surface roughness of the mold cavity, production cycle, service life and other indicators of the mold and the advanced level abroad. The overall level, including production methods and enterprise management, still has a gap of more than 10 years compared to industrialized countries abroad.
(2) Outdated process equipment and poor organizational and coordination abilities. Although some enterprises have undergone technological transformation in recent years and their level of process equipment is relatively advanced, the majority of enterprises still have relatively backward process equipment. More importantly, our company has poor organizational and coordination abilities, making it difficult to integrate or mobilize social resources for our own use, thus making it difficult to undertake larger projects.
(3) Most enterprises have weak development capabilities. On the one hand, the proportion of technical personnel is low and their level is not high enough. On the other hand, there is little investment in scientific research and development, and more importantly, outdated concepts and insufficient emphasis on development.
(4) Management backwardness is even more severe than technological backwardness. Technological backwardness is often easy to see, while management backwardness is sometimes difficult to realize. The gap in management between domestic and foreign mold enterprises is very obvious, and the problems caused by the gap in management are often more serious than the gap in technology.
(5) The market demand is strong, but production development is still difficult to keep up with, and the supply-demand contradiction is still difficult to solve. The situation of supply exceeding demand will continue for a period of time, especially in the high-end products where the contradiction is more prominent.
(6) The resolution of institutional and talent issues still requires time. In the socialist market economy and the process of economic globalization, competitive industries, especially those that rely on special users and require single piece production like molds, still find it difficult for many enterprises to adapt to the ever-changing market with their current systems and operating mechanisms. The quantity and quality level of talents cannot keep up with the rapid development of the industry. Although efforts are being made in various regions to address these two issues, it will take time to achieve a better solution.
